“How can I help please let me help I’ll do anything, Adam” his name is Adam. his heart was true but this form was curse, this rose when the last petal fell, he’d be stuck, forever.

“anything?” he asked. of course, I wanted his happiness, of course, I would help him I loved him.

“do you love me?” he asked

“yes, yes more than anything” whatever this was, we could do it together. I’d given my whole life up for him, maybe not optionally at first, but he had let me go and I realized my place was with him.

“anything?” he asked, why was he being so persistent?

He embraced me.

A sharp pain shot through me. I stumbled back, putting my hands over the source. A small dagger protruded from my stomach. What? there has to be a reason he would betray me. He loved me! I knew that!

I looked up and found my reason I slumped back against one of the bookcases, smearing blood along my favorite books and clotting my beautiful yellow gown. As I took what I knew would be my last breath and my last percivance of the world.

I saw Adam smiling goofily, fully human.
