I turn the faucet on, letting the water warm up and I shed my clothes.

I step in and embarrass the warm water droplets that hit my back and continue their race.

I feel my back getting warm, no doubt the forced coupled with the heat, red.

And I tilt my head back into the scolding water.

As steam rises and slowly chokes me.

And I may be burning,

And this may be unsafe,

But at least,

In this fleeting moment,

Outside of time and space,

Alone in my shower,

My skin slowly burning off,

Am

Warm.
