I did not feel whole

So Society told me to hold their hand,

I did

I still did not feel whole.

So Society told me to kiss them

I did,

I still did not feel whole.

So, Society told me to love them.

I did,

I still did not feel whole.

Then Society told me I was whole and

I believed them.

Until one day,

I let go and decided to

Hold my own hand.

And I felt fuller,

 Then I,

Kissed my own lips

And I felt fuller.

Then I

Loved myself

And I felt whole.

So Society told me I was lying

But I ignored them because I felt whole.

    Katelyn,
That poem was beautiful! It is so true that you must love yourself before you will ever feel whole!
    Thank you for that reminder.
